Managing Director
Nick Horne BA, ACA - Group Chief Executive

Nick is Group Chief Executive of Arcadia

and Managing Director
of Knightstone. He joined the Group in February 1996 as Group Director (Finance) and was appointed Managing Director in September 1998.
 
His management style balances commercial and social responsibilities with a strong commitment to investing in and delivering excellent customer services. From 1989-1996, he worked for Norwest Holst a national construction company within the property investment, development and house building divisions.  
 
From 1982-1989, Nick worked for chartered accountants,
Ernst & Young. Nick is also Vice Chairman of the Social Housing
Pension Scheme, a Trustee of the St John's Family Resource
Unit and a Support Member for Chartered Accountants in Business. 
 
From December 2001 to June 2004, he was a Statutory Appointee
to the Board of Kerrier Homes Trust and from 2001 to 2006 a
Board Member of the Bristol Community Housing Foundation.

Mark Beard BSc (Hons) MBA

Mark joined Knightstone from Somerset County Council, where he was Supporting People Partnership Manager for three years. Prior to that, he was a Regional Director with Stonham Housing Association for five years. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience of supported housing to this important post, the creation of which recognises the increasing importance we place on our growing supported housing portfolio.

Director of Development & Homeownership

Mike Day MA, MCD, MRTPI

Mike was appointed Director of Property Services in January 2000 and this year was re-titled Director of Development and Home Ownership following a change in responsibilities.  He is also the Managing Director of Arc Developments South West Limited, our private housing subsidiary. 
 
Mike joined the Association in 1989 as an Area Development Manager from Wimpey Homes. He is a Chartered Town Planner and has extensive housing development and property experience, having also worked for Kent County Council and
Shaftesbury Housing. In 1992 he became Operations Manager
(Development) before being appointed Head of Operations
Support in February 1996.

Anne Duff BA, FCIPD

Anne is Director of Corporate Services, covering HR, learning and development, health and safety, facilities management, and PR, marketing and communications. She has been with the organisation since 1993 in a variety of senior roles and previously worked in the local authority sector.

Group Director of Resources

Robert Kerse MA Cantab, ACA

 

Robert was appointed as Group Director of Resources in June

2008. He joined the Arcadia Housing Group in September 2007

as Assistant Director of Finance from Bristol Community Housing Foundation where he held the position of Finance Director. This post gave Robert significant hands-on experience of business planning, property development, treasury management, project finance and running commercial subsidiaries. 

 

Prior to joining Bristol Community Housing Foundation Robert trained as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he had a number of housing association, charity and local authority audit and business

assurance clients.

 

Rober is active within the housing association sector across the

south west as Chair of the National Housing Federation’s

South West Finance Forum.  He is also a Trustee and Chair

of the Resources Committee of Brunelcare, a provider of

affordable housing and care for older people.
